About Us

The South Pacific Mexican state of Jalisco is well known for its beautiful capital city of Guadalajara as well as its delightful climate and magnificent beaches. Famous as the birthplace of mariachi music and tequila, Jalisco’s heritage is a rich and colorful one.

Few elements describe an area better than its cuisine, and as natives of Mexico, we take pride in bringing the true flavors of Jalisco, Mexico, to life here in Watsonville, California. Our authentic dishes are specially prepared using only the freshest ingredients, highest quality meats and seafood, and homemade sauces and salsas.

Our charbroiled entrées are prepared on an open grill using mesquite charcoal. Mesquite wood is native to the Southwestern United States and Mexico, and imparts a more desirable flavor to the meat than conventional charcoal.

Jalisco has been proudly serving authentic Mexican cuisine in Watsonville since 1982. After closing for slightly more than one year following the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, we relocated to the building we now occupy – an historic landmark that was built in 1931.

Thank you for joining us at Jalisco. It is our sincere wish that your meal will be truly enjoyable, and that we will have the opportunity to serve you again.
