Fall Webworm
This time of year, many people call about mysterious tents on the ends of their tree branches. This is the fall webworm. While it is unsightly and causes much excitement for this reason, it does very little harm to the health of a tree. This is true of most late season defoliaters. As most of you would guess, this is simply because the leaves have already done most of their work for the season and are about to drop anyway. For this reason, we typically do not recommend chemical control.
