Why Choose Red Hill Montessori School?

We not only educate students, we teach them that learning is a lifelong journey that can truly be enjoyed. We build strong minds with confidence, character, responsibility and respect. Together, the entire Montessori family will to provide our students with a challenging learning experience in a warm, loving and supportive environment.

What is Red Hill Montessori all about?

We are a Montessori based school with high standards. Leila Charlesworth, the founder, has created a warm and loving environment with an emphasis on learning. The development of a healthy value system is part of the Montessori method. Students work to develop strong core values, such as honesty, self-esteem, and respect for others daily throughout a normal school day. Our student body, consisting of children from numerous cultural backgrounds, lends to the beauty and diversity that our school entails. Knowledgeable, loving teachers are at the heart of this school. In order to enhance the staff/parent relationship there are scheduled parent-teacher conferences that occur twice a year, as well as opportunities to maintain an open communication system through out the year.

What is Montessori?

Montessori is an educational approach, which helps each child grow to become a competent citizen, a proponent of peace, and a responsible custodian of earth. A school, such as Red Hill Montessori, has a deep respect for children as unique individuals. We are a warm and supportive community of students, teachers, and parents. Montessori assumes that children are born intelligent, but they learn in different ways and progress at their own pace.

What is Red Hill Montessori?

We are an independent Montessori based school for children, ages 4 months through Grade 4. Children are placed in a classroom where they will be most successful and triumphant. With over 20 years of outstanding education experience, Red Hill Montessori (previously known as The Montessori Center of Farmington Hills) has gained recognition for excellence in academics by providing a well-rounded education that spans a lifetime of achievement. We also provide our students with an opportunity to participate in grand performance twice a year. During this performance, the children sing, dance, orate, celebrate, and attain a confidence in themselves as they shine in front of all their loved ones and friends.

What About the Curriculum?

Our academic program involves all areas of study. We educate children in mathematics, social studies, Spanish, art, music, dance, computers, and a phonics-based language arts program. We offer a full sports curriculum, including a regular swimming program, during the warm summer months. We also have a beautiful playground the students enjoy immensely, we have field trips through out the year, and entertainers and puppet shows visit our school frequently to entertain the children!
