Anyone interested in taking the Motor Vehicle test at the Driving School needs to bring in the following:

• Copies of Birth Certificate and two other valid forms of I.D. including: Social Security card, Passport, Baptismal papers.
• Verification of present address (envelope with current postmark and date)
• DMV application (available at the driving school)
• A clear photo of the person taking the test (this photo will not be returned)
• Notarized parent consent form. This form is available at the Driving School and is necessary for 16 & 17-year-olds only.
• Check made payable to DMV for $40.00
• $85.00 service charge payable in cash only.

The test is held at the Driving School. Your instructor will keep you informed of the available and upcoming test dates. The day after you pass your driving test you must go to Hamden DMV only to have your picture taken for the license. You must bring original identification with you at that time. The DMV will not accept copies of any identification.

You will also need an approximate  payment of $77.00 on that day for your license (for six year license). The fee varies according to date of birth. Please be advised that there will be no refunds issued after thirty days.

Anyone who fails the test must pay $125.00 upon re-examination and re-submit all paperwork and another picture.

           PLEASE NOTE  THE DMV ONLY ALLOWS TEENAGERS  WITH A  PERMIT DATED AUGUST  1ST 2008 OR LATER TO TEST AT THE DRIVING SCHOOL

            STUDENT 18 AND OLDER MUST TEST AT THE DMV.
